Materials & weights

How heavy each one feels.

Weight is part of how a sculpture reads in the room — a hollow printed resin lifts in one hand, a cast bronze asks for both. These are approximate ranges per size, measured in our Haarlem atelier.

Resin

Hollow 3D-printed and sprayed by hand. The lightest finish in the collection, which is why many choose it as a second piece or when a sculpture needs to live on a shelf or travel.

Printed resin, unweighted — lifted in one hand

The “Weighted” option (+ €49) fills the base with a dense core, roughly doubling the weight and giving the piece a reassuring, grounded feel on a shelf.

Metalized bronze and copper

A 3D-printed resin core finished with a hand-applied layer of real bronze or copper, then patinated. The metal coating adds a little weight to the resin base, but the piece stays easy to lift. The unweighted and weighted clips above apply here too — the core is the same.

Composite stone and epoxy

Solid-cast in a mineral composite (sandstone or natural finish) or in epoxy resin. Dense, with the weight of real stone — a 20 cm piece lands at 1.5–2 kg, close to what a small natural stone sculpture weighs.

Cast bronze

One hundred percent solid bronze, lost-wax cast and patinated by hand. The heaviest finish in the collection, and the one that reads most clearly as a work of sculpture rather than an object. Cast bronze starts at 15 cm.

Cast crystal glass

Solid-poured crystal glass, finished by hand. Dense and light-catching, with the kind of weight that reads unmistakably as glass. Available in a frosted finish and in deep red. Cast glass starts at 15 cm, and we pour only a handful of pieces per month.

A note on these numbers

These are measured ranges from pieces we have finished recently. Weight varies slightly piece by piece because every sculpture is shaped from a different scan — a longer silhouette, a different arm position, a weighted versus unweighted base will all shift the final number.

Charms and minis

Pregnancy charms in sterling silver weigh about 4–6 g. In 14 karat gold, closer to 7–9 g. The silver minis (7–9 cm, solid cast) weigh roughly 90–170 g depending on size.
